BioI'm a longtime media fandom, starting back in the Dark Ages when it was all print 'zines and newsltters.
It all started with a paperback called STAR TREK LIVES!, all about the phenomena of ST fandom, and progressed through comic books and STAR WARS, with me first putting pen to paper and writing fic when the ending of ST:Wrath of Khan just demanded it.
Past fandoms: ST:TOS, ST:Wrath of Khan, SW:The Empire Strikes Back, Doctor Who (5, and a smidge of 7), Blake's 7, The Professionals, Robin of Sherwood, Beauty and the Beast.
Current fandoms: Agent Pendergast, Sherlock Holmes, Richard Jury, Hawaii Five-O, World's Finest (Superman/Batman), Philip Marlowe, Lord Peter Wimsey, King Arthur, NCIS, Cthulhu Mythos, Oz, SVU.
I love: Romance. Mystery. Magic. Ghosts. Time Travel. Anything with a hint of the Twilight Zone. Some SF, some fantasy (SWORDSPOINT or HIS MAJESTY'S DRAGON, as opposed to LORD OF THE RINGS). Some of my favorite movies are: A ROOM WITH A VIEW, JUST LIKE HEAVEN, DEJA VU, SOMEWHERE IN TIME, DEAD AGAIN, MEMENTO, L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, LABYRINTH, THE PRINCESS BRIDE. My favorite music is jazz and pop standards. Some favorite books: THE MAGICIANS AND MRS. QUEST by Galen Beckett, GOOD OMENS by Gaiman & Pratchett, FEVRE DREAM by George R.R. Martin, THE FOREVER KING by Molly Cochrane & Warren Murphy, THOSE WHO HUNT THE NIGHT by Barbara Hambly, THE LONG GOODBYE by Raymond Chandler, THE FIONAVAR TRILOGY by Guy Gavriel Kay, TURTLE MOON by Alice Hoffman.
If you're looking for porn, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for steamy romance, you might be in better luck. If you're looking for fic where any given OTP of mine mostly gazes into each other's eyes and everything fades to black on a kiss -- you are definitely in the right place. *g*
